MasterCard signs 10 PSPs for PayPass Online
Ten UK payment service providers have committed to MasterCard’s PayPass Online by MasterCard, part of PayPass Wallet Services, allowing them to accept electronic payments across multiple channels, whether the purchase is made online using a computer, tablet or smartphone.
CQR, CreditCall, DataCash, MoPowered, Optimal Payments, Pensio, Sage Pay, SecureTrading, The Logic Group, and WorldPay have agreed to integrate with the scheme, which enables more online and multi-channel retailers to have the tools available in order to capitalise on the growing online and mobile commerce market. This market is predicted to make up approximately 45% of UK retailers’ total revenue by 2014, according to some estimates.
Marion King, MasterCard’s president for UK & Ireland said: “With an ever increasing number of transactions being made online, merchants need to cater to changing consumer lifestyles and expectations. They need to offer shoppers peace of mind that their personal details are safe, offer a wider choice of payment options and quicker transaction times, which can ultimately translate into increased customer satisfaction and an uplift in sales. With PayPass Wallet Services we are again demonstrating our commitment to using our technology and expertise to offer these benefits to consumers, issuers, and merchants whilst offering the state-of –the-art security protection of the MasterCard payment system.”
There is also a suite of digital wallet services and developer tools to make it easier to connect other wallets into the PayPass Online acceptance network.
“PayPass Wallet provides three vital components that achieve this for the modern shopper: it’s secure, saves time at the online checkout and enables convergence of multi-channel payment options, including online, in store and when paying with a smartphone or tablet device,” said Ajay Bhalla, president of Datacash.
Phillip McGriskin, chief product Officer, WorldPay comments: “Consumers are only ever one click away from a competitor’s website, and WorldPay’s priority is to help merchants to secure as many conversions as possible. We have partnered with PayPass Wallet Services so merchants can streamline the payment experience, and offer customers a quick, convenient and secure way to pay online.”
