European e-voucher provider paysafecard group has launched a new service it says will simplify the process of Internet shopping for its customers. The Paybefore Award-winning firm’s new system—dubbed “my paysafecard”—enables customers to combine all of their paysafecard e-vouchers into a single account. Instead of having to enter separate 16-digit PINs for each purchase, users simply enter their unique user name and password. The accounts are not linked to a bank account, and can be topped up using paysafecard PINs.
The service has launched in 21 European nations, including Austria, France, Spain and the U.K. Users still will have the option of paying via the original process of entering a separate PIN for each purchase. Customers over 16 who want to register for my paysafecard can do so at the company’s Website by entering an email account and a mobile phone number. There are no fees for registration or use of my paysafecard, and leftover balances from individual PINs remain stored in users’ accounts for future use.
Michael Mueller, paysafecard group CEO, called the new service “the next logical step on our mission to provide customers with secure payment solutions for the Internet that don’t require a bank account or credit card details.” The company, which has headquarters in London and Vienna, was recently acquired by Skrill, one of Europe’s largest payment providers, in a 140 million euro (US$183 million) deal, which closed in early February.
