TAS, Payair to Launch Mobile Commerce Platform (Feb. 11, 2013)
Feb. 11, 2013
Italian software provider TAS Group and Payair South Europe S.A., a Swedish mobile commerce company, have agreed to launch a mobile commerce platform that incorporates Payair’s commerce platform and a customization solution supplied by TAS. The platform will support large-scale retailers that require advanced automation of their purchase and payment processes, according to an announcement.
The QR code-based solution accepts e-commerce transactions, remote payments and proximity payments, such as near field communication (NFC). Through a dedicated app, available on App Store, Google Play and Windows Phone, users can scan a QR code specifically related to a product, merchant or transaction and finalize the transaction by entering a proprietary PIN.
The agreement with TAS enables “our customers to take full advantage of our services and [TAS’s] great flexibility when integrated into their IT architectures and businesses,” said Pierpaolo Griffa, Payair South Europe CEO. “[Our customers] will enjoy fast and secure payment solutions in any sales channel and, at the same time, they will benefit from significant cost reductions and more effective management of the financial circuits and communication with the consumers, throughout the process of evaluation and purchase.”
The partnership comes on the heels of Payair’s deal with Swedish electronics retailer Davids to enable mobile payments for its customers.
