‘Action-Triggered’ Instant-Load Prepaid Card Latest Promo Tool from parago (May 2, 2013)
Consumers could have one more reason to redeem cash-based promotional offers if parago, a Lewisville, Texas-based incentive provider, succeeds with its new “action-triggered” prepaid card. Designed to increase response to direct mail and other promotional offers, the new offering enables marketers to send consumers a zero-balance prepaid card that marketers can instantly load with value when consumers respond to an offer or complete a task, such as sampling a product or watching a demo. Funds are available immediately to consumers that comply with the promotional offer and the card is accepted at all POS locations that accept network branded payment cards, said parago. Marketers also may reload funds to the same card for ongoing promotions.
parago, winner of a 2012 Paybefore Award, designed the product to appeal to consumers who increasingly want “on-demand, immediate gratification,” said Mike Reynolds, parago’s executive vice president and managing director of rewards and recognition. For marketers, the action-triggered card provides “the power of a prepaid card without the cost of sending out funded cards” to thousands of consumer prospects, which can be expensive and inefficient, Reynolds said.
