Atlanta-based technology company IDology has beefed up its tools to verify individuals’ identities in card-not-present environments. The latest version of IDology’s verification tools, ExpectID Scan and ExpectID Scan Verify, build on the company’s core products, which have been in use for several years for organizations that routinely use them to verify identity credentials, particularly of underbanked and unbanked consumers, in the insurance, health care, financial services, online gaming and related industries. Instead of relying on consumers to fax copies of identity documents such as driver’s licenses, passports, state and international identification cards, the updated versions of IDology’s tools harness consumers’ home computer webcams to provide photos of the documents to the organizations seeking to verify consumers’ identities. The new capabilities speed up the process of verifying identification documents and improve accuracy, said John Dancu, IDology’s CEO.
The improved tools incorporate advanced algorithms to pinpoint suspicious credentials and behavior, according to IDology. ExpectID Scan and Scan Verify are compatible with most major Web browsers, an IDology spokesperson tells Paybefore, noting that the scanning process requires a standard Webcam and Flash.
Prepaid Resources, a New York City-based technology specialist for the prepaid and banking industry, recently announced a partnership with IDology to incorporate advanced identity verification and prescreening solutions within Prepaid Resources’ FraudGuard security services.
