People on the Move: David Yates, Peter Keenan, Ian Sayers and Justin Basini, Zapp (August 2013)

Zapp, a U.K.-based provider of mobile payment technology, recently announced several senior-level appointments. Ian Sayers has been hired as chief technology officer and will join the company in October, along with fellow recent appointees Peter Keenan, CEO; Justin Basini, chief marketing and product officer, and David Yates, chairman.
Yates, who founded Zapp in 2013, has many years of experience in payments innovation, having led global payments businesses for First Data Corp. and Western Union. He also is CEO of VocaLink. Keenan has extensive experience in retail and financial services, having been managing director of the Currys and Dixons businesses in the U.K. and Ireland. Basini spent the last three years building an Internet startup in consumer data and also served as chief marketing officer at Capital One. Sayers has led technology development at Barclays for the past 12 years. He led the design of several innovations, including Barclays’ PingIt and BuyIt.
