Monitise plc has appointed Peter Ayliffe non-executive chairman. Ayliffe, who has served as a non-executive director on the Monitise board since November 2011, will assume his new duties Oct. 1 2013, following his retirement from Visa Europe. He succeeds Duncan McIntyre, who is stepping down as chairman, but will continue as a special advisor to the company. Ayliffe led Visa Europe as president and CEO for more than seven years. Prior to Visa Europe, he spent more than 30 years in retail banking.
