New Braintree SDK Features PayPal Integration (July 15, 2014)
eBay Inc.’s Braintree payments unit has unveiled a new software development kit (SDK), marking Braintree’s first major upgrade since being acquired by eBay in an $800 million deal last year. Now operating under eBay’s PayPal business umbrella, Braintree’s new SDK will integrate PayPal payments, enabling developers to easily add PayPal as a checkout option. Features include a “drop-in” user interface, targeted at enabling early-stage startups to adopt Braintree with minimal integration work. Larger companies can fully customize the SDK to match their own site branding and look, eBay said. Chicago-based Braintree’s clients include high-profile mobile and Web companies, such as Uber, OpenTable and Airbnb.
