paysafecard Launches in Ready-for-Growth Latin American Countries (July 3, 2014)
Paybefore Award-winning online voucher provider paysafecard.com Wertkarten AG has expanded this week into Peru and Uruguay, two Latin American countries the company says are ripe for prepaid online payments growth. Approximately 70 percent of Peruvians do not have bank accounts and are reliant on prepaid solutions for paying online. Uruguay has an Internet penetration rate of 71 percent, and 76 percent of adults do not have a bank account, according to the Vienna-based company. paysafecard, which is available in nearly 40 countries, first came to Latin America with launches in Argentina in 2009 and Mexico in 2010.
