Rap Video Explores Origins of Money and Its Future (Sept. 2, 2014)
It’s not emerging payments’ first rap video (that distinction probably goes to Mack Maine’s “All in One Swipe” for the Young Money card), but it’s probably the funniest and, let’s say, most irreverent. (Yes, it includes rap language, so be forewarned if you choose to view it.)
The video is called “The Future of Dough,” and it was created by Money20/20 to reinforce the theme of the November conference—the continual evolution of money from caveman days to a (somewhat scatological) biometric future. The video includes cameos by industry hot shots. (Who knew that these guys could rap?) The Paybefore staff spotted Don Kingsborough (PayPal), Osama Bedier (formerly Google), Matt Harris (Bain Capital Ventures), Paul Galant (Verifone), Michael Abbot (Isis) and Russell Simmons (RushCard). Well, OK, we knew Russell Simmons could rap.
You can view the video on the Paybefore homepage in the Featured Videos section. Hint: There’s so much detail, you’ll probably need to view it several times before you can take it all in.
