Visa Adds Big Partners to Checkout Shopping Service (Sept. 2, 2014)
Visa Inc. has added top acquirers and e-commerce platform providers for its Visa Checkout service, expanding the service’s reach by nearly 4 million online merchants, according to the payments network. New partners include Bank of America Merchant Services, First Data, TSYS, Vantiv, Wells Fargo Merchant Services, CyberSource, MarketLive and 3DCart.
Visa Checkout enables e-merchants to add a one-click purchase button to shopping Websites and apps. Using Visa Checkout, which replaced the payments network’s V.me digital wallet, shoppers who have pre-registered a payment card can complete their online purchases by clicking a button and entering their username and password. When Visa Checkout launched earlier this summer in North America and Australia, participating retailers included Neiman Marcus, Pizza Hut, Staples and United Airlines.
