FSC’s Strategic Plan Reinforces Gibraltar as Location of Choice (Oct. 21, 2014)
The Gibraltar Financial Services Commission (FSC) last week published its 2014-2017 Strategic Plan, which is designed to reinforce Gibraltar’s position as a destination of choice for businesses looking for European headquarters. The vision of the FSC, which is the financial services regulatory body in Gibraltar, is to be recognized as the model international financial services regulator, and its mission is to effectively and efficiently provide financial services regulation “to promote good business, protect the public from financial loss and enhance Gibraltar’s reputation as a quality financial center,” according to the strategic plan. The plan ensures the FSC remains nimble amid a constantly changing landscape, “where international and European standard setting bodies, the financial services industry and other stakeholders, are setting future challenges the FSC needs to be well-positioned to meet,” said FSC Chairman John Tattersall.
