Mobile Payments App Helps Kohl’s Enroll 20 Million Customers in its Loyalty Program (Dec. 8, 2014)
Department store Kohl’s Corp. expects to enjoy the fruits of combining a mobile payments app with loyalty this holiday season. The retailer said it doubled the number of customers enrolled in its loyalty program to 20 million after launching its mobile app nationwide in October, following a 300-store pilot. The mobile app, which enables consumers to store and redeem rewards on their phones and enjoy faster checkout in stores, will be a competitive advantage, the retailer told CIO Journal. The company, which joined the merchant-led mobile payments consortium MCX in 2013, also can integrate with other available m-wallets, according to the report. MCX’s CurrentC mobile payment network is now in pilot and is expected to roll out nationwide next year.
