Transfast Partners with Trio of Kenyan Banks for Same-Day Deposits, M-Pesa (March 9, 2015)
International money transfer company Transfast has announced partnerships with three of Kenya’s largest banks to speed up its services for sending and receiving funds across borders. New York-based Trans-Fast Remittance LLC’s customers now have access to same-day deposits and M-Pesa, Kenya’s popular mobile money service, through agreements with African Banking Corp., Chase Bank Kenya and Dubai Bank Kenya Ltd. Two-thirds of Kenyans routinely use M-Pesa, and Kenyans living outside the country sent home a record $1.43 billion in funds last year, up 10.5 percent from 2013, according to data from Kenya’s central bank. Transfast has 200,000 locations in more than 100 countries.
