People on the Move: Steven L. Antonakes, Eastern Bank
Boston-based Eastern Bank has appointed Steven L. Antonakes senior vice president and chief compliance officer. He will report to Barbara Heinemann, executive vice president of Eastern Bank’s enterprise risk management division. Antonakes has more than 25 years of compliance, risk management and financial services experience. Antonakes most recently served as deputy director and the associate director for supervision, enforcement and fair lending at the CFPB. Before stepping down from his positions at the bureau last month, Antonakes served as its second-highest ranking official and was responsible for the supervision of all banks and nonbanks under the CFPB’s jurisdiction and the enforcement of federal consumer protection and fair lending laws.
