Money20/20 Founders, Kingsborough Launch Shoptalk (Sept. 23, 2015)
Next-generation commerce is the focus for Money20/20 founders Anil Aggarwal and Jonathan Weiner, who have partnered with Don Kingsborough, entrepreneur and a Blackhawk Network founder, to launch a new conference called Shoptalk. The event, which has raised $2.5 million in funding from strategic investors including Commerce Ventures and Primary Venture Partners, will be held on May 16-18, 2016, at the Aria in Las Vegas.
Shoptalk covers the technologies and trends that are set to fundamentally reshape how consumers discover, shop and buy, according to an announcement. “There is a fundamental transformation underway,” said Aggarwal, chairman of Shoptalk. “Technology has enabled a new unified physical and digital world where everyone creates, curates and consumes differently” he said. “Connected and empowered, today’s consumers expect a wide range of new integrated, on-demand and personalized products, services and experiences. This is the future of commerce.”
The retail response to shifting consumer demands will be a major focus in the 10th Annual Pay Awards, which opened its call for nominations this week. Six new categories will celebrate excellence and innovation in the retail and loyalty market, including Outstanding Rewards Program and Best Retail App.
