Mobetize, Global Service Solutions Partner for Mobile Wallet (Nov. 4, 2015)
Mobile payments technology provider Mobetize Corp. has formed a strategic partnership with prepaid wireless company Global Service Solutions Inc. and under the new brand Gotwallet, the companies “successfully” will bridge the gap between the prepaid wireless end user and mobile payments, according to a Global Services Solution executive.
Global Service Solutions said it has experienced success with its Got Prepaid brand and the Gotwallet mobile wallet is a natural successor. Got Prepaid is distributed through a nationwide channel of large distributors and retailers to more than 1 million end users in the U.S., covering more than 50 different prepaid cellular products in a combination of plastic card, real-time replenishments and e-PIN formats.
“Everyone is talking about mobile wallets and financial services but we’ve yet to see one that has successfully bridged the gap between the prepaid end user and mobile payments,” said David Sparks, president and CEO at Global Service Solutions. “The next step in the evolution of prepaid is mobile recharge and mobile payments and services.” Gotwallet is expected to launch in January 2016.
