Broadridge allies with AMA for corporate governance
Broadridge Financial Solutions has taken a minority stake and entered into an exclusive distribution and marketing alliance with Netherlands-based management consulting firm AMA Partners.
AMA provides DirectorInsight, a platform offering data and analytical tools for the evaluation of corporate governance and executive compensation.
Broadridge says the deal expands its data capabilities for corporations and institutional investment firms in “key European markets”.
Demi Derem, general manager, investor communication solutions international, Broadridge, says: “In the current environment of increased activism and heightened scrutiny of corporate governance practices, partnering with AMA to offer DirectorInsight will enable issuers and institutional investors better decision making and more effective engagement.”
DirectorInsight is described as a one-stop, interactive online corporate governance data and analytics tool, providing an “independent” platform for analysing governance risks, executive pay and benchmarking through a pay-for-performance screening tool, board intelligence, company financials, filings and interlocks. In addition, DirectorInsight offers a tool for constructing peer group scenarios to screen against a company’s peer group.
The solution is powered by historical data going back to 2008, plus forecasted performance and standardised compensation data and covers more than 1,200 listed European companies with profiles of over 35,000 directors and executives. It serves investors, issuers, corporate secretaries and professionals in the fields of human resources and governance and can be used for, among other things, succession planning and recruitment efforts.
Broad reach
Broadridge is no stranger to deals and alliances.
Digital Asset says it has entered into non-exclusive strategic business relationships with the companies, and Blythe Masters, CEO of Digital Asset, says the alliances will “accelerate innovation” and “drive growth”.
Broadridge will provide the resources to identify, develop and drive adoption of “innovative” business use cases. Digital Asset will be able to use Broadridge’s post-trade managed services, infrastructure and cyber security capabilities.
While last year, BBVA Group entered a multi-year agreement with Broadridge for a post-trade managed service to support its institutional fixed income business in the US.
Under the agreement, Broadridge will provide an integrated managed service to support fixed income and repurchase agreement processing, international clearance and settlement and investor communications services. Broadridge has supported reconciliations processing of equities, cash and exchange-traded derivatives for BBVA since 2013.
