Agencies on the Move: FinCEN Law Enforcement Awards
The Financial Crimes Enforcement Network (FinCEN) presented its second annual Law Enforcement Awards in a ceremony at the U.S. Department of the Treasury on May 10. The awards are presented to law enforcement agencies that use Bank Secrecy Act reporting provided by financial institutions in their criminal investigations. The program is aimed at recognizing law enforcement agencies that made effective use of financial institution reporting to obtain a successful prosecution and to demonstrate to the financial industry the value of their reporting to law enforcement.
This year’s winners included the Internal Revenue Service Criminal Investigation Division, the Federal Bureau of Investigation, U.S. Customs and Border Protection, U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement’s Homeland Security Investigations division and the New York State Police.
