MasterCard, Microsoft Collaborate on E-Commerce Payments
MasterCard has inked a deal with Microsoft, which the companies say will make accepting online payments easier for the more than 20,000 business customers who use Microsoft Dynamics software in 13 markets.
Microsoft Dynamic’s AX cloud-based ERP software has integrated the card network’s Simplify Commerce payments platform. “Simplify will provide card-not-present e-commerce and call center payments to Dynamics customers through a single connection point to acquirers worldwide,” says a MasterCard spokesperson.
Here’s how the process works, according to that spokesperson:
A Microsoft Dynamics business user signs up for Simplify’s service via a Microsoft partner or through a Microsoft Dynamics link to Simplify.com/Microsoft. The business either connects its existing merchant account relationship with an acquirer listed on the site, or opens a new merchant account with an acquirer from the list. Simplify connects the “technical dots” to enable clients to seamlessly take payments via Microsoft Dynamics. Once that happens, businesses can manage payments within the Dynamics interface to manage their systems.
The launch of this integration has nothing to do with the recent debut of the NFC-enabled Microsoft Wallet, the MasterCard spokesperson adds. Simply Commerce through Microsoft Dynamics is available in the U.S. and 12 other countries, including France, Germany and the U.K.
