People on the Move: Ted Iacobuzio, Mercator Advisory Group
Payments industry research and advisory firm Mercator Advisory Group has appointed Ted Iacobuzio as managing director of custom research and consulting services. Prior to joining Mercator, Iacobuzio was with Global Insights, Mastercard’s interdisciplinary thought leadership organization, where he focused on topics including mobile payments technology, data privacy and online security, small merchant technology integration, global digital readiness and payments as a lever for economic inclusion. Previously, Iacobuzio served with TowerGroup, a financial services technology research and advisory firm, where he was the first analyst at the company to cover payment cards as a discipline and among the first analysts to tackle EMV as a subject.
In his new role with Mercator, Iacobuzio will replace Patricia Hewitt, who will continue to contribute to the firm as a director emeritus and subject matter expert on a project-basis for the consulting services team.
