ACI Worldwide integrates Ethoca Alerts for payments gateway
ACI Worldwide will integrate Ethoca’s service, Ethoca Alerts, into its UP eCommerce Payments solution, making it available to payment service providers (PSPs) worldwide.
The integration gives PSPs, acquirers, processors and their merchant customers a means to “bolster” their fraud defences with card issuer-confirmed fraud and customer dispute data.
Keith Briscoe, chief marketing officer, Ethoca, says the integration makes Ethoca Alerts “easily available to more than 130 payment service providers and thousands of their merchants”.
ACI says Ethoca Alerts gives merchants an early warning on confirmed fraud and customer dispute transactions, allowing them to resolve cardholder complaints before they reach the chargeback stage. Merchants on the network receive alerts as soon as cardholders confirm fraud with their bank – not weeks later through the “slow, costly” chargeback process.
ACI says this immediate notification provides the window of time merchants need to stop the fulfilment of goods and services, as well as eliminate the impending chargeback by issuing a refund to the cardholder.
In addition, ACI says Ethoca Alerts complements its portfolio of integrated payment and fraud solutions, including ACI Red Shield for fraud prevention
Ethoca is a tech provider for card issuers, e-commerce merchants and online businesses. It was founded in 2005 with headquarters in Toronto and offices located in Austin (Texas), London and Dublin. It says seven of the top ten e-commerce brands, seven of the top ten US card issuers, two of the top five UK card issuers and more than 4,600 e-commerce businesses around the world use its solutions.
Faster, faster
Recently, ACI has been involved in two notable partnerships.
PT Indopay Merchant Services, a subsidiary of Indonesia’s banking solutions provider PT Abhimata Persada, teamed up with ACI Worldwide for the latter’s UP eCommerce Payments solution.
While in the UK, ACI is partnering with Raphaels Bank, opening up access to the Faster Payments Scheme for financial institutions (FIs), including challenger banks and PSPs.
