BlueSnap, Visa Checkout Grease Online Shopping Cart Wheels
BlueSnap, a payments technology provider, has partnered with Visa Checkout to help online merchants fight checkout abandonment by providing consumers with an easier checkout process and higher payment conversion rates.
Visa Checkout works with smartphones and tablet, laptop and desktop computers, and makes shopping online more convenient for consumers, using any major credit or debit card, by reducing the number of forms a shopper has to fill out, thus reducing the checkout process to a few clicks, according to an announcement. More than 85 percent of consumers who signed up for Visa Checkout completed transactions from their online shopping carts, according to comScore 2015 Visa Checkout Study. And a 2015 Jumio report estimates that shopping cart abandonment costs retailers $24.5 billion in revenue. BlueSnap’s Powered Buy Platform automatically routes transactions to multiple acquiring banks and is designed to maximize payment success rates. The platform also delivers offers and coupons, subscription billing, fraud prevention and chargeback management.
“Converting a shopper to a buyer on a mobile device requires more than just having a mobile-optimized site or an app,” said Ralph Dangelmaier, CEO of BlueSnap, when the company launched the Powered Buy Platform last year. “We’ve spent the last year optimizing the set of capabilities that merchants need to solve their payments conversion problem, and built that into our Powered Buy Platform.”
