TIAA launches voice biometric authentication
New York-based financial services provider TIAA has launched its new voice biometric authentication.
With the voice recognition functionality, TIAA customers can create a “voiceprint” to identify themselves when they call to speak to a representative, transfer funds or check their account balances. TIAA says the technology eliminates the need to “remember yet another password, PIN or account number”.
Scott Blandford, executive vice-president and chief digital officer at TIAA, says: “The vocal password capability is the latest example of how TIAA is leveraging game-changing technology to transform the way our customers manage their finances.”
The firm says voice biometrics is now available to most TIAA retirement participants.
TIAA was founded back in 1918 (TIAA stands for “Teachers Insurance and Annuity Association”). Today, it has $889 billion in assets under management and employs 12,500 people. It offers financial solutions, including investing, banking, advice and guidance, and retirement services.
