Who is leading the digital way among the retail banks in India?
We have put together some nifty stats for India’s top ten online banking sites for the past month (data courtesy of SimilarWeb). We’ll be publishing regular updates on a monthly basis, to track the changes, developments and trends – to bring you a fuller picture of the country’s digital banking appetite.
Highlights:
- State Bank of India powers ahead in the country’s desktop banking traffic for July 2016 with a staggering 450 million desktop visits, 1,2% more than second-place HDFC Bank and 1,6% more than ICICI Bank.
- Highlighting, however, that the biggest is definitely not most engaging – State Bank of India came seventh for time on site (7.32) and last for pages per visit (3.56).
- This contrasted with Punjab National Bank – which saw an average session of nine minutes 47 seconds – the highest in India (as well as in the UK and the US).
- The top performer on pages per visit: Bobibanking.com, saw customers visit 14.90 pages per visit (8.13 seconds per session).
