Finacle core banking system available on Huawei FusionCloud
Infosys has partnered with Huawei to bring the Finacle core banking system to the Huawei FusionCloud.
The two companies carried out a benchmarking activity under the observation of consultancy firm EY.
The test was simulated on a Finacle database size of almost 1 TB, with 6,000+ branches, 33 million+ customers, 61 million+ accounts and 20,000+ branch users. 3,846,000 transactions were successfully processed in a full test duration of two hours and 33 minutes at the rate of 627.66 transactions per second in one hour of peak user load.
Head in the clouds
This is not the first foray of Finacle into the cloud.
Last year, the vendor teamed up with New York-based telecom specialist, Verizon, to bring Finacle core plus e-banking and mobile front-ends to US community banks on the cloud.
The platform to underpin this is Verizon Cloud, described as a free storage service that lets subscribers back up contacts, photos, videos, music and documents. The Finacle suite is offered on a “pay-as-you-go” basis.
Around the same time, Infosys launched a new offering, “Finacle as a managed service on Oracle Cloud”.
Infosys says banks can use the solution suite, along with other enterprise-class applications, hosted on premise or in an external environment. The company says that Finacle becomes one of the “first” banking platforms to be available as a managed service on Oracle Computer Cloud.
And finally, it joined forces with Microsoft for Finacle on Azure. The partnership with Microsoft has an initial focus on the cloud for testing and development, plus a “cloud bursting” option, whereby Azure could be used to cope with peak volumes.
