People on the Move: Fumbi Chima and Michael Scown, Global Sources Board
The board of directors of B2B commerce facilitator Global Sources has appointed Fumbi Chima and Michael Scown to board membership seats, effective Sept. 12, 2016.
Since 2015, Chima has been the chief information officer for Burberry plc, overseeing the company’s technology division. She previously served in the same role for Walmart’s Asian operations. Prior to entering the retail vertical, Chima spent a more than 15 years in the financial services industry, including serving as vice president of corporate systems at American Express from 2006 to 2010. She currently serves on several company boards and participates in corporate mentoring networks.
Scown is the Asia managing director, treasury, for Intel Capital—a position he has held since 2006. Prior to that role, he served as Intel Capital’s Asia regional counsel. Before joining Intel, he practiced law with Russin & Vecchi, LLC in the firm’s San Francisco and Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam offices. Scown also has served as a foreign services officer with the U.S. Department of State.
Chima and Scown will hold office until Global Sources’ next annual general meeting, at which they will then be subject to re-appointment by the company’s shareholders.
