People on the Move: Mary Dent, Green Dot Bank
Green Dot Corp.has appointed Mary Dent as CEO of Green Dot Bank, the company’s wholly owned bank subsidiary. In the role, Dent will report to Green Dot CEO Steve Streit. Lewis Goodwin will remain Green Dot Bank’s president, reporting to Dent. Prior to taking on the CEO role, Dent served as member of the Green Dot Corp. board of directors. She will resign from that role, but will continue to serve on Green Dot Bank’s board as an executive member.
A J.D. recipient from Stanford University, Dent’s prior experience in emerging payments includes seven years as general counsel for Silicon Valley Bank, along with a stint as vice president of public policy at the bank. Most recently, she was general counsel at Insikt, a lender serving low-income consumers. In her new role as head of Green Dot Bank, Dent will focus on generating greater revenue for the Provo, Utah-based bank through initiatives focused on monetizing its bank charter, its balance sheet, its deposit product and lending capabilities.
