We reveal the stats for the top ten apps in India, ranked taking into account two engagement metrics – current installs and active app users (data courtesy of digital market intelligence firm SimilarWeb). Current installs show the percentage installs of an app on all Android devices in a country. The active app users data shows the average daily percentage of users that used the app.
Though India has some of the highest rates of mobile use, its top banking apps are less installed than in the US or UK. The two top banking apps in India by current installs are ICICI‘s iMobile (2.59% of India’s Android devices) and Axis Mobile (2.19%).
Kotak has the highest active app users percentage – 15.91%, whilst State Bank‘s Buddy has its users spending the longest time on the app – six minutes and four seconds.
