Digital challenger bank N26 goes pan-European
Germany-based mobile bank N26 is taking its business fully across 17 European countries, including Spain, Italy, Greece, Ireland and Slovakia. Until now, some of these locations were in the “soft launch” phase.
N26 says it has onboarded 200,000+ customers since its launch in January 2015.
The bank’s app, website, video ID verification process and customer service are now available in French, Spanish and Italian (in addition to German and English).
Valentin Stalf, founder and CEO of N26, is keen to see N26 “disrupting retail banking further” with its pan-European reach.
It is collaborating with a number of fintch firms to bring partner products and services onto its app, such as TransferWise, Robinhood, FinanceFox, Vaamo, Raisin, Nutmeg, Auxmoney, Clark, LendingClub and Amazon.
N26 offers an eight-minute sign up process, instant money transfers, and real-time transaction notifications and budgeting features. It is working on adding savings, investment, credit and insurance products to its app (to be accessed directly by N26 customers), as well as real-time credit and artificial intelligence (AI) based features.
