People on the Move: Miguel Vias, Ripple
Blockchain-based financial settlement solutions provider Ripple has named Miguel Vias as head of XRP markets. In the role, Vias will work with market makers, traders, investors and exchanges to strengthen the market for XRP, the digital currency native to Ripple’s distributed ledger, and set the stage for large-scale institutional adoption of the currency. Vias joins Ripple from CME Group, where he was global head of precious metals and metal options at the largest precious metals desk in the world. Prior to the CME, Vias worked at the commodities desks of Morgan Stanley, Bank of America and Mitsui. In all, he has nearly two decades of trading experience.
