St Stanislaus-St Casimir’s Polish Parishes Credit Union in core banking revamp with Smartsolution’s Universa
Canada-based St Stanislaus-St Casimir’s Polish Parishes Credit Union (Polcu) will move to a new core banking platform, Universa, supplied by local banking tech vendor Smartsolution.
Smartsolution says the new system will enable the credit union to offer its 22,000 members “newer, more diversified and very user-friendly financial products and services”.
Universa will be delivered on a Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) basis.
Andrzej Pitek, CEO of Polcu, says his credit union “is confidently looking forward to its move to Universa”.
“We feel that the modern banking platform will provide a well-enhanced, user-friendly experience both for our members and staff alike,” he explains.
He also mentions efficiencies and cost-effectiveness the new platform is hoped to bring.
Smartsolution has been around for nearly four decades, specialising in banking systems and financial management solutions to banks, trusts and credit unions in Canada and the Caribbean. It is based in Ontario.
Universa’s users include Manchester Co-operative Credit Union in Jamaica, Korean (Toronto) Credit Union, CCEC Credit Union, Vancouver Firefighters’ Credit Union, Greater Vancouver Community Credit Union and Slovenia Credit Union.
Iean Tait, president and CEO of Smartsolution, says six institutions converted to Universa in 2016.
