Apple Pay launches in Italy
Apple Pay has landed in Italy with users able to add Mastercard, Maestro, Visa and V Pay credit and debit cards to the app.
On the Italian Apple Pay website it says that the cards can be used with the banking services of Boon, Carrefour and UniCredit.
It also states that more will be coming this year – including American Express and Berlin-based mobile bank N26.
Elsewhere, Apple Pay is on a roll as it recently won the battle of the four banks. Its fight to retain its Australian smartphone market continues as HSBC Australia is now offering support for its customers for the first time. On top of the HSBC Australia launch, Apple revealed on its website that over 20 more US banks also gained official Apple Pay support.
Apple Pay is also available in the US, UK, China, Canada, Switzerland, Ireland, Russia, France, Hong Kong, Singapore, Japan, New Zealand and Spain.
