Start-ups ProxToMe and Uniken join Wells Fargo’s accelerator programme
Wells Fargo has selected two new companies – ProxToMe and Uniken – to join its Wells Fargo Start-up Accelerator.
During the six-month programme, the participants will receive “mentoring and guidance in refining their potential breakthrough technologies for the financial services industry”, Wells Fargo says.
They are also eligible to receive up to $50,000.
ProxToMe, a start-up from San Francisco, provides proximity-based authentication for the internet of things (IoT). Its contactless, Bluetooth-based proprietary technology aims to replace traditional card-based authentication.
Union is a cybersecurity software company in New Jersey that provides customers with controls to survive zero-day attacks on their digital delivery channels.
The start-up says it “completely eliminates credential compromise and man-in-the-middle attack risks”.
With the addition of ProxToMe and Uniken, the number of participants of the Wells Fargo Start-up Accelerator stands at 13.
The bank is now accepting applications worldwide, until 23 June 2017. More details can be found on the Wells Fargo website.
