Data Pitch launches European accelerator
Data Pitch has unleashed its new accelerator in the search for start-ups and SMEs across Europe with fresh ideas for data products and services.
The plan is to connect data providers “with nagging business problems” to firms with the right solutions. It’s not limited to fintech, but successful applicants will receive up to €100,000 equity free funding, mentoring and business advice.
The project is funded by the European Commission’s Horizon 2020 research and innovation programme and delivered by the Open Data Institute (ODI); the University of Southampton (UK); Lisbon-based Beta–I, an entrepreneurship and innovation organisation; and French data marketplace Dawex.
The accelerator is built around twelve challenges designed by organisations, experts and the public. These challenges include future-proofing retail supply chains and using data to ensure the right skills are developed in the future.
Data providers who are already signed up to Data Pitch and looking for collaborators, include German data management provider Uniserv and Italian big data and machine learning company SpazioDati.
The deadline for applications is 1 October 2017, with interviews for shortlisted companies in London the week commencing 30 October 2017.
