FT Partners Hires Goldman Sachs Veteran Melissa Wasser
San Francisco-based Financial Technology Partners (FT Partners), a fintech-focused investment bank, has hired Melissa Wasser as a director and head of private capital markets.
Wasser, who will be based out of FT Partners’ New York City office, spent the past decade at Goldman Sachs where she most recently served as a senior banker in the global private placements group facilitating private capital sourcing across fintech/tech in Goldman Sachs’ investment banking division globally.
The firm says Wasser will help spearhead its ongoing mission to connect clients with world-class investors, including growth equity, venture capital, strategic investors, debt and alternative lenders, family offices, pension funds, mutual funds, hedge funds and sovereign wealth funds globally.
FT Partners has raised many billions of dollars of primary capital and secondary liquidity for hundreds of clients over the last 15 years, notes Steve McLaughlin, founder and CEO. “We’ve become the undisputed leader in successfully raising private capital in the fintech space. In an effort to double-down on this success, we are excited to bring Melissa to our team,” he says. “This will provide our clients with an even more intense focus on targeting both strategic and financial capital as well as further strengthening our increasingly diverse and global network of investor relationships.”
