Bank on Dave gearing up for launch in 2018
Burnley Savings and Loans, a lending company based in Burnley, UK, is awaiting a banking licence from the UK regulator for its Bank on Dave challenger bank.
Burnley Savings and Loans was founded by David (Dave) Fishwick, a local businessman, in September 2011. The company describes itself as “a fair and friendly loans facility to the people and businesses of Burnley and Lancashire, and we’ll do it with genuine personal service for our customers”.
Bank on Dave hopes to launch in 2018, subject to regulatory authorisation.
Finastra’s Fusionbanking Essence will be the bank’s core system, Banking Technology understands.
With so many new entrants trying to muscle into the UK banking sector, Banking Technology has put together a comprehensive list of the known challengers to date and the technology they are using.
Hi, in approx early November 2017 Dave was filming for him new series ” Bank of Dave” at the Dobbies Garden Centre car park, near Rotherham. I went up to the crew and I asked if I could meet Dave because I had really enjoyed watching the other series he had done. So they let me meet him and I talked to him about local people supporting local companies and charities, because at the time I was a Fundraiser for a local charity.
The camera crew filmed us talking about it. They took my details and I signed a form with my permission to use it in the programme, I have been looking out for the new series but I haven’t seen it in the TV mag etc.
I was just wondering if you have anymore details about the new series because I’m looking forward to it. If you could let me know, that would be great. I know this isn’t a bank enquiry. Hope Dave and everyone are well.
Thanks
Andy

I infrequently look for updates to what is happening within the Bank Of Dave but seem to find no dates are on the website postings in some cases not even the year. I totally agree with Dave Fishwick’s idea to stop bankers bonuses which in many cases are more per year than some employee will earn in a lifetime. That said I’d have to research the various charities the Bank has supported before agreeing with any donations to them.
Have you obtained a full banking licence? If not can you post on the web the reasons for the hold up, I’d really like to know and if names are provided in the cause of the delay I’m sure things will speed up considerably.
Wishin you all the best going forward and perhaps the opening of a branch near to me in Cirencester.
