Earthport expands to Bangladesh to deliver cross-border payments
Earthport, a cross-border payments service provider, has partnered with BRAC Saajan Exchange, the payments arm of BRAC Bank, to deliver cross-border payment services into Bangladesh.
The partnership enables inbound payments through Earthport’s payment network, which according to the paytech vendor, provides a more cost-effective and secure solution for managing international payments.
The partnership marks Earthport’s entry into Bangladesh and is part of its longer-term strategy to increase the number of Asian markets IT services, building on its recent network expansion across the continent.
Abdus Salam, MD and CEO, BRAC Saajan Exchange, says: “We believe our large, secure distribution network and nativity to the Bangladeshi community complements Earthport’s global payment network and greatly supports the wider needs of Bangladeshis everywhere.”
Global growth
In October, Earthport was appointed by Swiss Euro Clearing Bank (SECB), a clearing hub for Swiss banks, to provide Swift processing services and further increase its processing efficiency and add “greater value” to its customers.
Earlier to this, reported in 2016, Earthport had partnered with Aftab Currency Exchange Limited (ACEL) and joined forces with Ria Money Transfer.
