IberCaja turns to Meniga for personalised digital banking
Spanish bank IberCaja has implemented and integrated Meniga’s digital banking solution into its core systems for real-time customer data processing.
According to Meniga, it is the first personal finance software provider that IberCaja has partnered with as part of its digital revamp.
Victor Iglesias CEO at IberCaja, says the agreement is an “important milestone in our journey towards truly personalised digital banking, and the first step in a long-term strategic partnership with Meniga to help our customers become more financially fit”.
Meniga adds that its solution offers improved accuracy of categorisation of transaction data, giving customers a clearer view of their financial spending history.
The new functionality is being rolled out to IberCaja customers “gradually” via its digital channels, starting with mobile banking. The functionality and insights are accessible via RESTful APIs (i.e. APIs that uses HTTP requests to “get, put, post” and “delete” data).
There are no timelines, but the bank plans to offer more advanced personal finance features, including savings goals, financial insights and “challenges” – recommended short-term, actionable targets for users that they can take part in individually or within a community – to “help customers reach savings targets and improve their financial management”.
Spain-based tech firm Inycom supported Meniga in the roll-out of its personal finance solution.
Last month, Bragi Fjalldal, CMO, VP product and business development, Meniga, discussed how “the race to meaningfully engage with customers is on”.
