Revolut ditches Wirecard for in-house card issuing
Revolut will no longer be relying on Wirecard for card issuing as it has now brought this function in-house.
As reported earlier, Revolut is doing the same to card processing, having developed its own payment processing engine. Previously, this was done by another third party, Global Processing Services (GPS).
Revolut suffered a string of payment outages last year caused by technical issues at its providers – customer cards were declined and payments were rejected. The same issues plagued other fintechs who relied on the same paytech providers, including Monzo, Starling, Fire, Pockit, U Account, Curve and Loot.
