Snapsheet teams with Aviva Canada for virtual insurance claims
Virtual claims insurtech provider Snapsheet has partnered with property and casualty insurance group Aviva Canada.
This marks Snapsheet’s first step in to the Canadian market. Their partnership will allow customers to file claims by taking a photo/s of the damage and submitting the image/s through the carrier’s branded app – AvivaExpress, powered by Snapsheet.
Snapsheet says its team of appraisers processes and inspects vehicle damage based on the photos using specialised software and engagement tools to provide an estimate for repairs.
The customer then receives payment from their insurance carrier and can take their car to the body shop of their choosing. Snapsheet’s customer service team “walks customers through the entire journey”.
Lynn Anderson, Aviva Canada’s interim chief claims officer, says Snapsheet has a “great track record in the US” and “the results from our pilot programme showed an immense improvement to our customers’ claims journey”.
During its pilot programme, 93% of Aviva customers chose to opt in and use the virtual claims platform, enabling Aviva customers to settle claims 20% to 40% faster than with traditional channels.
Snapsheet also cites a “2017 Future of Claims Study” by LexisNexis that 38% of carriers currently use a virtual claims process, yet 100% expressed interest in adopting this technology in the next five years.
Last year, Snapsheet teamed with KeyBank for the launch of Snapsheet Transactions, a payment solution for insurance claims.
