Green Dot hits the spot for Stash’s new banking services
New York-based financial services platform Stash has teamed with Green Dot Corporation and its subsidiary bank, Green Dot Bank, to launch mobile-first banking services
Green Dot’s services will include bank accounts with debit cards, no overdraft fees, and a network of free ATMs nationwide. Stash says it will provide personal guidance – from spending to saving, to retirement and investing.
This partnership follows on from October 2017, when Stash discussed its latest banking plans. In February, it raised $37.5 million in Series D funding for product expansion.
In the latest development, Brandon Krieg, CEO and co-founder, Stash, says: “Layering Green Dot’s robust Banking-as-a-Service (BaaS) platform with Stash’s full suite of offerings will provide innovative, affordable tools to teach healthy financial habits, relieve financial stress, and help our clients save and invest more money.”
According to Stash, it has two million customers and five million educational subscribers, with approximately 40,000 new clients joining weekly.
Stash was founded in October 2015 by “Wall Street veterans”, Krieg and Ed Robinson.
