HSBC UK’s latest app stands connected for one screen dream
HSBC UK has unveiled Connected Money, the “first” app from a UK bank that allows customers to see their accounts on one screen.
As you suspected because of the word connected, it allows users to see their UK current account and online savings accounts, mortgages, loans and cards held across a number of banks, including non-HSBC accounts, in one app. Customers can currently add accounts from up to 21 different banks.
Becky Moffat, HSBC UK’s head of personal banking and advance, says: “From testing this technology with customers we found that it gave them a sense of better control and financial confidence.”
Connected Money comprises a range of tools. These include a spend analysis feature and messaging. The latter gives customers an insight into their finances, allowing users to receive insights and tips about their transactions and spending behaviour.
HSBC UK says it is working on additional features – such as rounds-up and nudges. The latter makes savings rule suggestions to customers based on their spending habits by applying smart algorithms through nudges and auto rules.
From today (9 May) the technology is now available to all HSBC UK current account customers using iOS 10 and above via the app store.
