TD launches TD Ready Challenge to open industry to humanitarian initiatives
TD has launched the TD Ready Challenge, a North American initiative that offers ten grants of CA$1 million ($775,000) to “help catalyse innovative solutions for a changing world”.
This follows the recent launch of The Ready Commitment, a programme aiming to donate CA$1 billion by 2030 in community giving.
The TD Ready Challenge will address the four areas identified within The Ready Commitment as critical to building an inclusive future: financial security, a more vibrant planet, connected communities and better health.
Every year, organisations will be invited to submit proposals offering scalable solutions to a specific issue identified within The Ready Commitment.
This year, the TD Ready Challenge will focus on financial security, seeking solutions to increase income stability and provide skills for the economy of the future, defined by inconsistent work hours, multiple sources of income, self-employment, and the gig economy.
“TD wants to help open doors for people so they can more confidently move forward in a rapidly changing world and be prepared to seize the opportunities that come with accelerated shifts in how we work and live,” says Bharat Masrani, group president and chief executive officer, TD Bank Group.
Grant applications for this year’s challenge open from today, 4 June, until 27 July. You can find more information here.
