Banque Palatine launches pre-paid travel card
Banque Palatine, the SME-focused subsidiary of Groupe BPCE, is launching Palatine First, a multi-currency payment card designed in partnership with PayTop, a French paytech created in 2012.
For this service, the card gets linked to the mobile app, on either Android or iPhone, to control the card – such as block it, view transactions in real time, and reload the card.
“For Banque Palatine founded in 1780, the aim of this partnership with this fintech is twofold: first, to offer our customers a differentiating, innovative and useful product; in addition, Palatine First is part of the modernisation of Palatine, a priority in its Envol 2018-2020 Strategic Plan,” says Clément Leap, director of private banking at Banque Palatine.
The Mastercard card is designed for consumers as a pre-paid card, which allows users to swap currencies as they see fit: euros, pounds, Swiss francs, and US, Canadian and Australian dollars.
The bank does not take commission on payments and withdrawals are available worldwide with a “limited exchange rate”.
