BTPN completes front office revamp with Diasoft’s Flextera
Indonesia-based Bank Tabungan Pensiunan Nasional Tbk (BTPN) has completed the roll-out of Diasoft’s digital front-office platform, Flextera Suite. With this implementation, the bank will support its front-end customer needs throughout the country, for retail, SME and microfinance via its 500 branches.
BTPN embarked on the project for transformation of its business in 2016, aiming at a “modern all-in-one bank catering for all aspects of retail banking services”.
“This was a complex large-scale project with a lot of technological and organisational challenges,” comments Alexander Glazkov, managing director at Diasoft. This is understood to be the Russian vendor’s first foray into Indonesia.
The Flextera front-office roll-out marks the first part of the transformation, and the range of bank services supported includes customer identification, operations with current accounts and deposits, cardholder services, cash and cheque transactions, payments and money transfers, including SKN/RTGS transactions.
Flextera was integrated with the bank’s corporate enterprise service bus (ESB), allowing communication of the solution with the bank’s IT landscape, including its back-office platform based on Finastra’s Equation, Compass Plus’ card processing system, a biometric identification system, and a scan recognition system.
The project was carried out with the help of Diasoft’s local partner in Indonesia – Sistema Datapilar.
Regarding the roll-out of the system to the whole country, which followed, the bank says that “one of the challenges of this part of the project was the capability to support centralised bank operations in terms of low bandwidth capacity of internet channels in some remote areas of the country”.
Currently, the bank continues its application development based on Flextera tools.
The bank started the transformation of its core system by Finastra with its smaller subsidiary Jenius in 2017.
