UK start-up Betr Lend preps for launch
London-based lendtech start-up Betr Lend is on the hunt for a CTO as it readies for launch.
The firm is a new online lending and credit card company; and is targeting people with a short credit history.
It says: “Our mission is to give recent immigrants a path to a brighter financial future through the provision of fairer online loans and credit cards.
“We do this by making loans to people with short credit histories, while coaching them on things they can do to improve their credit score.
“This is a huge problem as young people, immigrants and students have no clue how to build credit and often become trapped using crappy products.”
At present it’s looking to build business in the UK and US.
Betr Lend recently completed its first round of (undisclosed) funding by two unnamed venture capital funds and angel investors in the UK.
The firm is the brainchild of Thomas Olszewski. He is also an associate at Frontline Ventures. Olszewski previously worked as an investment manager at Cavalry Ventures in Berlin.
These are very early days for the start-up as it has a website page, but this is under construction.
