Zilliqa and Infoteria pair up to push blockchain DApps
Japanese enterprise software firm Infoteria Corporation has teamed with Zilliqa, a Singapore-based blockchain start-up, to power usage and adoption of decentralised applications (DApps).
Both companies will promote Zilliqa’s new blockchain platform that uses the “Sharding” technology first proposed by the Zilliqa team in an academic paper in 2015.
According to the firms, “Sharding” can scale thousands of transactions per second as the number of nodes in the network increases.
“A scalable public blockchain is essential”, says Pina (Yoichiro) Hirano, CEO of Infoteria Corporation. “Infoteria has been seeking a wide range of blockchain adoption including non-fintech applications. We have been waiting for a high-throughput public blockchain that is able to support enterprise applications.”
As the first step of the partnership, they will promote the Zilliqa platform on Asteria – Infoteria’s middleware product which has more than 6,500 enterprise customers and 41% market share in Japan.
Both companies will also launch a series of (unspecified) initiatives to support the development of enterprise DApps based on the Zilliqa blockchain and Asteria later this year.
In addition, Zilliqa will develop a special connectivity adapter for Asteria data integration, allowing customers to build DApps that will interact with their enterprise systems and the Zilliqa blockchain.
