Sovereign Capital takes control of Asset Control
UK-based Sovereign Capital Partners has invested in financial data management solutions provider Asset Control.
There are no financial details but under Sovereign’s investment, Asset Control’s existing management team will continue to lead the company, including Mark Hepsworth who was appointed as CEO in August 2016.
He will be joined by Brian Traquair, former president of capital markets at Sungard Data Systems, who becomes chairman of the board of directors.
Sunil Jain, investment director at Sovereign, says the global marketplace for data management systems is “growing rapidly” and Asset Control is “uniquely positioned to capitalise on this opportunity in the financial services market”.
During the sale process Asset Control and its previous owners (Marlin Equity Partners) were advised by Houlihan Lokey. The latter is not the name of some wiseguy from a Raymond Chandler crime novel.
London-based Asset Control was founded in 1991. It also has offices in New York, Singapore and the Netherlands.
