Akbank takes a snap to verify customers with Daon
Akbank in Turkey is now using Daon’s IdentityX solution to enable customer authentication via facial recognition.
The launch, which claims to be the first of its kind in the country, saw nearly 250,000 end users opt into “almost immediately”, according Daon CEO Tom Grissen.
“This is one of the fastest-growing user adoptions we have seen globally,” says Grissen.
Daon’s mobile biometric authentication platform also supports fingerprint and voice-based authentication, in addition to facial recognition.
Daon worked with NTT Data based in Turkey to bring the innovative solution to the bank.
Just last week, Daon partnered with South Africa’s Capitec Bank in a multi-year agreement to leverage Daon’s IdentityX platform.
In August, New Zealand’s Department of Internal Affairs (DIA) began using IdentityX to verify users’s identity online.
